Yeah…dont do it…its very harmful to your skin.
I use to manage a tanning salon so here are some tips for you:
1. Always use a indoor tanning lotion. UVB and UVA rays are reflected off dry skin so you will not start to tan until your skin has moister on it.
2. If you are just starting to tan, start with 10 minutes and work your way up to 20 minutes in 2 minute incriments. Go every other day and make sure you dont burn. Not only is burning very unsafe, it will keep you out of the tanning bed for days and in turn you lose most of your tan. If you a regular tanner, go from every other day to every 3 days once you get a really good base. You have to keep your tan from fading and if you wait 4-5 days to get to do another session, your wasting your money.
3. Keep your skin mositerized
4. If you do 20 minutes in a regular bed thru out the week, 1 or 2 a week after you reach a plateau, jump in a super bed for a boost.
SIMPLE: Tanning lotion or brown-based bronzers!
Use a tanning lotion with bronzes and always moisturize. If I want to keep my tan longer, I stay away from lotion with fragrance. Like Bath & Body Works. To get a good base, go tanning for about 3 days straight. Skip a day and go again. You should have a base built up by then. Make sure you use a GOOD lotion. Tanning lotions really matter.
