I know baby oil works well while tanning but when I used to go to public tanning salons, they didn’t want me to use it. I now own a bed and don’t want to damage it but does it really damage it or did the tanning salon just want me to buy their lotion?

dont use a tanning bed
Yes, it will dull the plexy glass.
Baby oil will burn you. It’s like putting crisco on you. I would buy a tanning lotion. If you’re wanting to get darker, look for a bronzer like Sexy-U Red Hot Bronzing Cream.

Who cares what it does to the tanning bed, think about what it’s doing to your skin! Wrinkles, lines, skin cancer, age spots …. yikes.
It won’t damage the bed (the bed is made of glass- baby oil wipes right off). The reason they didn’t want you to use it is because it’s unsafe for your skin and their policies probably wouldn’t allow it since they were well aware it was unsafe (as you should be). Use a product with sunscreen in it. You’ll still tan– just like you tan at the beach with sunscreen on. It only blocks the most harmful rays (but in essence, they are all pretty harmful). I stopped using tanning beds a couple years ago. Honestly, you should read more about what will happen to your skin later on if you continue to use one.
Baby oil will cook you to a crisp and will damage the acrylic as well will outdoor tanning lotion.
Yes it will damage the glass i was told the same thing and i asked why i was told it would ruin the glass…
No. You don’t want to use oil in a tanning bed… It breaks down the acrylic over time. It seeps into the acrylic sheet that you lie on and begins breaking it down eventually causing cloudiness and cracks.
